Chris Pickering

Chris is a musician, songwriter, academic and music industry professional based in Melbourne, Australia. He has over 30 years’ experience in the music industry, and spent 5 years based in Nashville, USA, writing songs, collaborating, performing, and touring. He has released four full albums and three EPs of original music, and has had compositions performed by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Flinders Quartet, and others. From 2014-2024 he was Head of Music at JMC Academy in Melbourne, and now can be found working on projects through Soundworks and doing some teaching at University of Melbourne. He has completed a Master of Music through University of Melbourne and is due to complete a PhD in Music Composition in 2025, accompanied by the release of new music.
